Vote YES on Measure SMS
to Renew Excellence in San Marino schools!
Measure SMS is Not a Tax Increase
It would simply combine two existing voter-approved parcel taxes (Measure E and Measure R) into one streamlined renewal, protecting the stable, locally controlled funding our schools depend on.
By November 3, Vote YES on Measure SMS to renew excellence in San Marino Schools!
San Marino Unified School District is one of the top school districts in the State, with students earning state-level honors in math, writing, music, and debate.
Since 1991, voter-approved parcel tax funding has kept our schools among California’s best and helped protect local property values.
That funding is set to expire unless renewed by voters.
Without Measure SMS, the District will have to cut approximately 10% of its annual budget – leading to dozens of teachers and school staff layoffs, cuts to academic programs and increases in class sizes.
Measure SMS will:
Retain and attract high-quality teachers and staff
Support advanced programs in math, science, engineering, and technology
Support mental and behavioral health programs
Protect hands-on learning programs
Maintain honors and advanced placement courses
Prepare students to be competitive in college and career
